Its time to break up the real monopoly

When you look at dictatorships and some of the great nations that the world has seen, from the Roman Empire through the current century, a few common threads flow through each.

The first step is the removal of guns and other weapons that could be used for self defence.

Step two is taking control of the media; the press, television, radio, etc.

Finally, to assure long term commitment to the leadership, the new rulers take over the educational system. A government can change the perceptions and belief systems of an entire nation if it can control the educational system long enough.

Sadly, this has happened in America. If you look at the curriculum of the modern government school, one glaring omission is the in-depth study our our US Constitution. Just ask any kid who graduated from a government high-school to tell you what they know about the Constitution and you normally get nothing more than "Its a document to help us create laws". A 'document', just like any other. Its a list of suggestions, a "living, breathing" piece of Americana that sometimes gets in the way of real socialital change.

Unfortunately, this is how many people perceive the Constitution, sadder still, barely anyone under the age of 50 has ever actually read the document that our country was founded on.

Let's pause for a moment though, and look at what rights the Constitution actually provides to our federal lawmakers, shall we?

Section 8 - Powers of Congress

• The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
• To borrow money on the credit of the United States;
• To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;
• To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;
• To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;
• To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;
• To establish Post Offices and Post Roads;
• To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;
• To constitute Tribunals inferior to the supreme Court;
• To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offenses against the Law of Nations;
• To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;
• To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;
• To provide and maintain a Navy;
• To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;
• To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;
• To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;
• To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings
• To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof

Now think about all the laws our elected officials have placed on the populace. They prevent us from drilling for natural resources on private and public lands. They force free enterprises to raise production costs to reach artificial standards, such as miles per-gallon. They impose regulation upon regulation telling people what they can and can't do with their own private property. They give billions of dollars to people to NOT plant certain crops. The dole out funds for local building projects, and worse of all, they have taken control of the educational system in America.

Where in the Constitution do they get the right to do any of these things? Look at it yourself. Do you see anyplace that the founding fathers of our nation envisioned the central government to tell you how to use, or not use, your own property? Do you see anything in the rights granted to the legislature to allow them to set minimum standards on manufactured goods? Do you see anything in the Constitution that allows the FEDERAL government to dictate how and what to teach our children?

Its time to put an end to this tyranny. Its time to put an end to unconstitutional law making. Its time to take back the country and marginalize the federal government. The big government monopoly should be dismantled and the power given back to the states where our founding fathers intended it to be.

We have an election cycle this year. We have an opportunity to send a message to the people of this nation that we firmly believe in the words, and meaning of our Constitution. Who is going to carry this message forward? hillary? obamma? mccain? These are the same people who took away state rights to begin with. Its time for a change alright, but not simply a change of color or clothing. Its time to rid the nation of the monopoly of the federal government. Its time for a new political party, one who's dedicated to the ideals given us by the blood of our forefathers and all who have fought for the principles of the US Constitution.

Its time for the end of both the Republican and Democratic Parties.

Will the Real Conservative Please Stand Up?

Once again, the November elections look to be a vote for the lesser of two evils. We’re getting more of the same from both ‘big-box’ parties.

For the Republicans’, it was McCain’s “turn” to run, so there he is. McCain is no conservative by any stretch, but he does represent of the current GOP philosophy of compromise.

For the Democrats, they saw an opportunity to end the Clinton reign and seized it. (applaus-applause) Taking a freshman politician with a squeaky clean look, they compromised ideals for image –again. Win or loose the Whitehouse, those in the party with the most to fear will be rid of their biggest threat once and for all.

Many think McCain would nominate a "real conservative" to the Supreme Court. However, IF he gets that chance, remember that IT’S ONLY A NOMINATION. The majority liberal congress will never approve a real conservative so McCain will giddily select a centrist who will keep the philosophy of the court just as it is now. This is the McCain way. Compromise.

McCain supports the efforts in Iraq, but honestly none of the Presidential candidates are going to change that course. Has anyone asked McCain what he plans to do after Iraq? Is he willing to fight for freedom first? Freedom at home? Let's not forget McCain-Kennedy, the bill giving citizenship to millions of illegal’s and do nothing to stop the easy passageway across our borders.

The GOP is gone. It can't be fixed. The democrats are imploding and will continue to be the fringe kooks we know they are. The GOP is eagerly filling the gap vacated by the old Democrats. So the only option left is to start supporting a party that holds the beliefs that made this nation great.

Both the Libertarian and the Constitution parties have enough members to be viable over the next few election cycles. Both parties stress the importance of, and faith in, the Constitution, AS WRITTEN and support the idea of liberty for all. These ideals are being stolen from us with each passing election.

Don’t accept the notion that a vote for a 3rd party is a vote wasted. No American’s vote is EVER wasted. If all third party supporters and independents voted with one voice, they would actually become the majority party!

The GOP started as a grass-roots third party. Third Parties help shape this nation and give voters an avenue to express their unique opinions. Third parties give sources of leverage to major-party loyalists to "keep the pressure on" their party to adopt or emphasize positions the party tends to ignore or abandon.

It IS time for a change but not the undefined emotional change advocated by many. The change needed is a return to the CONSTITUTIONAL VALUES so many men and women have fought and died for. The change is one of sanity and equality for all. The change is for strong local and State government which are far more effective and responsive to people than a central national government whose loyalties are NOT to the nation’s populace.

Wars aren’t won by a victory on each and every battle field. Victory takes time. Freedom has a snowballing effect. Win a few battles, people will notice, a few more, people will join. Before our kids are handed the keys to this nation for safe keeping, we can win back the ideals of liberty and freedom, but it MUST start NOW. The time is NOW to vote your convictions with the understanding that with courage, things can and do change. This year, vote for someone else, join with others to make a stand for what’s right and not a lesser of evils.

IRS loses challenge to prove tax liability

If you don't believe the media is all in the liberal camp, then ask yourself why you didn't see this story plastered all over the news!

For the past 45+ years, the US government has been illegally taxing its citizens. That's right, the income tax is illegal according to the constitution. The IRS has never once been able to show the legal statute for forcibly collecting income taxes and finally, the people had their day in court and won!

But wait....this case really isn't going to change things now...or is it?

The IRS is reeling, fending off all potential legal challenges and not pursuing an appeal here. Why? Because they know that if this case ever reaches the supreme court, everyone in the IRS (and tens of thousands of supporting bureaucrats) will be out of work. They know they can't prevail, so its best to sweep this loss under the rug and hope not too many people hear about it.

What I predict however, is that the next congress will finally get their act together and pass the Fairtax proposal. This option should have been done years ago, but now the politicians have little choice. The victors of the aforementioned court case are hotly pursuing the IRS and will eventually get enough people interested that the IRS (your friendly neighborhood ---hood) will be forced out of business. Not that the USA needs the income from the income tax, but the politicians do. Its the best source of non-tractable, increasable, income they have and they don't want to loose the cash cow.

If the income tax is shown to be the fraud that it is, people will eventually demand its elimination and there will be a major up-hill battle to get it replaced with anything new. Therefore, by implementing the fair tax now, the politicians can protect at least part of their income dynasty, albeit, a much smaller portion.

The revenue dollars "lost" by the elimination of the IRS would be almost equal to the expenditures required to maintain the income tax. A 'wash', and therefore a totally unnecessary tax other than to control more and more Americans and give the government a big hammer to keep dissidents in line with. So its not a far leap to believe that once this fraud is uncovered, voters would demand its elimination and not accept any new taxation to take its place. Therefore, if congress wants to retain any power through taxation (its number one tool), then then some form of income tax replacement is necessary, and quick --- before the jig is up.

If you look at the various proposals, and what has the best chance of passage, its pretty clear that the fair tax is the big winner. The idea of the flat tax is good, but it leaves too many possible loop holes and will anger one large group or another. The flat tax would not be an easy sell since you'll be stepping on far to many toes. Additionally, since the Feds lost the battle of the amnesty bill because voters didn't believe congress would enforce it, so will they not believe that congress will keep to the spirit of the flat tax. Its easy to imagine this reverting back to the current tax system in a few short years.

The fair tax on the other hand doesn't give anyone any leverage. Its a level taxation field across the board. There are no deductions of any kind, for anyone, for any purpose. Rather than tax income, you tax spending. This eliminates the burden imposed on producing which kills the human spirit and prevents a lot of people from taking business risks (the cornerstone of the free market system).

While the fair tax will make it harder for congress to fool around with your money, they will at least maintain some form of tax revenue stream. They should be able to see that something is better than nothing.

Personally, I'd like to see the abolishment of all income tax and replaced with nothing, but if that won't happen, the next best option would be a consumption tax without loopholes to be exploited. Therefore, I think its important that our elected officials, and those seeking new offices in the next 24 months, be forced NOW to take a stand on taxation one way or the other. If they have courage, and really believe in the American Constitution, then they should be supporting the total abolishment of the income tax with no other replacement taxation. If on the other hand, they want to preserve the status-quo as much as possible, then they will support the fair tax.

Of course the liberals will take their usual stance and fight tooth and nail to maintain an unconstitutional income tax and tell you to just shut the hell up.
